About the Speaker

Mr. Alfonso Fung, FHKIArb has been in practice as an approved law costs draftsman since 1984. A pioneer in his profession, Mr. Fung taught himself computer programming, developed and published a specialist law costing software as early as 1986. The software was subsequently licensed to the Hong Kong Government for use in the Legal Aid Department. Mr. Fung has extensive experience in taxation of complicated and heavy cases up to Court of Final Appeal level. He has been recognised in Who’s Who of the Law Hong Kong & China (1998-2000) as “Hong Kong’s best draftsman – in a class of his own, excellent, knows more than the others and quite a good advocate”. His law costing software was featured in the article “Technotalk – Computerised Costs Drafting – a word with Alfonso Fung” published in the May 1994 issue of the Hong Kong Lawyer. Mr. Fung obtained his FHKIArb qualification in February 2019, his arbitration related practice covers roles as an assessor to the tribunal and as Law Costs Draftsman and advocate in taxations before the tribunal and before the High Court.
