The delegation of Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrator visited Pearl River Delta on 5-6 June 2008.

During the visit, the HKIArb delegation met with various officials and practitioners and exchanged with them issues and updates on arbitration matters in the Pearl River Delta region. These included Huizhou Municipal People’s Government; Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau of Huizhou Municipality; Huizhou Arbitration Commission; Legal System Bureau of Foshan City; Foshan Arbitration Commission; and Guangzhou Arbitration Commission. The visit was well also reported by the TV and press media in the Mainland.

Mr. Gary Soo, President of HKIArb, remarked that this was a fruitful and productive exchange and it helped enhancing further ties and exploring promising opportunities between Mainland China and Hong Kong for mutual gains in relation to the use and promotion of arbitration in the Pearl River Delta region.
