On 09.01.2003, Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators ("HKIArb"), jointly with the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre and Hong Kong Trade Development Council, invited members from the Hong Kong Federation of Industries to the roadshow on arbitration law and practice. The President and Mr. Philip Yang were the speakers at the event and Issues and insights on arbitration agreements, mediation and enforcement of arbitral awards were exchanged with an audience of some 70 attendees from various industries.
The President, Samuel Wong, noted that it was very important to bring to the actual users the concepts and importance of arbitration and effective dispute resolution mechanism. This was one of the event of the series of roadshow to the industries that HKIArb would keep on.
On 14.01.2003, the James Blake, shared with members of HKIArb the dispute avoidance techniques adopted in KCRC projects. In the seminar which drew out an audience of some 100 attendees of arbitrators, lawyers and construction professionals, the concepts and practice of the theme, "Prevention is better than Cure" was discussed with real life situations.
HKIArb also took the opportunity of the occasion to present the certificates to HKU PCLL students who successfully completed the entry course for Associate membership in 09.2002.
